No AI raster shipped

Heliotrope is pure shader code and hand-drawn SVG marks. No Higgsfield video, no Recraft artwork, no generated photography. The entire visual field is a fragment shader evaluated in the browser, so there is nothing here that was produced by an image model and therefore no image prompts to record. Because no AI-generated media is displayed, no EU AI Act image disclosure is required.

Recording this plainly is the point of the page. The alternative, decorating the site with generated textures and then claiming it as generative art, would be dishonest about how the colour is made.

What did the design thinking instead

Shader design notes

• Structure: two-level domain-warped FBM, five octaves, so curtains read as aurora rather than clouds.
• Palette: six OKLCH-spaced anchors, violet to rose, interpolated with smoothstep.
• Anti-neon rule one: colour only appears inside bright curtain zones; the void shows through the gaps.
• Anti-neon rule two: desaturate the whole frame toward its luminance by about a third.
• Scroll couples to a dominant-band uniform; each reading owns a band and the field eases between them.
• The impossible band blends chartreuse and rose and lifts saturation for one reading only.
• Grain and a soft vignette keep it from looking clinical.

Inspiration sweep

Reference language only, never copied. The look was calibrated against non-digital colour first, then aurora footage, then spectroscopy plates. Search directions used to feed the eye:

• Turner late skies, colour as weather, dissolving horizon.
• Real aurora borealis curtains, long-exposure, desaturated greens and violets.
• Emission spectroscopy plates, spectral lines, scientific colour charts.
• Domain warping fragment shaders, Inigo Quilez articles, painterly noise fields.
• James Turner Rothko-adjacent colour-field painting, luminous flat bands.

If a poster is ever generated

Should a future version add a rendered social poster, the exact prompt, tool, model and settings would be recorded here verbatim and mirrored into a prompts/ folder in the repository. As of this build that folder documents only that no raster was generated.
